This Inventory Procedures document is for cannabis businesses applying to the California Department of Cannabis Control for an annual license. It has different versions available based on your license type.
Inventory Control is second only to Security in its importance to state regulators, because it ensures that no cannabis can go unaccounted for without serious consequences. The State of California isn’t going to let its adult-use cannabis law fail by cannabis going out the back door! Thus, like many other states, they have mandated a seed-to-sale software tracking system (called METRC), and they insist that you know the rules and have processes planned for keeping track of every last crumb of cannabis and drop of oil.
